Description

Laughter is said to be the best medicine and for a good laugh you must play one of the most hilarious adventure games, "Down in the Dumps." The game is about Blubs, one of the wackiest alien family, who travels to other planets in their spaceship to spend their holidays but crash-lands in a dump on earth after being hit by an evil aliens' spaceship. Blubs are not like normal aliens - They are no taller then your thumb and now they badly need your help to fix their spaceship and also help them avoid the ugly and evil aliens of the other spaceship, which has also landed somewhere on earth. In this game you play and control different members of Blubs' family but one at a time, solving wacky puzzles, collecting scraped inventory items dumped around but useful to repair the spaceship.

Down in the Dumps exhibits one of the coolest pre-rendered 3D graphics. The backgrounds are still screens but the characters move from one screen to another in a seamless cinematic sequence, in which the first and the last frame corespond exactly to the previous and next play screen, respectively. The game uses a very nice point-and-click interface and you can see the inventory items on a black strip at the bottom of the screen. You interact with people using multi choice questions, which is always a good feature of classical adventure game. Puzzles are slightly hard and mostly inventory based but in return they are quite entertaining and fun to solve. In whole, Down in the Dumps is a solid adventure game choke full of humorous scenes, comical characters and many many hours of game play.
