Voyeur II is Philips Media's unavoidable serial to Voyeur, which in fact took the market by storm when it was ported to the PC from its original CDi format in 1995. Voyeur II is more an interactive movie than an adventure game packed with tiresome conversations and sex scenes, which the player watches over and over again. The story begins in Dr. Elizabeth Duran's mountain house, where her colleagues and business partners have gathered tonight for the reading of Late Dr. Everett Cussler's will. Dr. Elizabeth Duran has become the director of the Research Institute with the sudden death of Dr. Cussler and some of her colleagues are either jealous or not happy about that. You play as the photographer, who lives in a cabin in the woods just across Elizabeth's House and you can watch and hear every movement in her house through the lenses of your video camera and long range microphone. Now, only you know that someone from the guests, which are gathered tonight in Elizabeth's house is going to make an attempt on her life and you are the only one who can stop this murder and save Elizabeth's life.
Apart from being an interactive movie, Voyeur II has some good adventure-type puzzles that you need to solve while tape-recording every suspicious movement in the house and gathering concrete evidences to proof the killer's fatal intentions and stop him from putting them into action. While the game is designed mostly using full-motion-video technology, there are also some 3D animated cut-scenes in the game. Sound and music is reasonably good but sometime become noisy. I would only recommend this game to adult gamers especially, if they don't mind sexually exploited material in games. |
