Description

Drakan: Order of the Flame is a bizarre action-adventure game that involves an enchanted world of dragons and humans living together in peace under the Order. For many years humans and dragons were fighting each other as the worst enemies until the Order of the Flame was established that bounded them as the guardians of piece and prosperity. The Order ruled the land for many centuries until Navaros betrays the order and leads evil forces such as Dark Union and the Wartocks to demolish the Order and commands their army to raid human's and dragon's villages.

You take over the role of Rynn, a young warrior, whose village has been raided by the Wartocks and her brother kidnapped. Our heroine joins the legendary dragon Arokh, whom she stumbles into by destiny and whose sacrifice can only restore the disturbed Order of the Flame. But, our young heroine rides the dragon and fights the Wartocks, scavengers, giant spiders, evil dragons and forces of Dark Union, using her magic skills, sword or just the fiery breath of Arokh the dragon.

The game features a unique engine that seamlessly blends different backgrounds in 32-bit high color resolution providing a smooth 360-degree panning view. Mouse controls the character movement and various keyboard keys are used to outcome different action movements. A multi-player mode is also available, which on the other hand is a bit disappointed, as it is limited to only three games. Sound effects and music value very high in this game as it meshes well in the surrounding and deliberately changes to alert the player accordingly. Overall, I believe that Drakan scores good ranking in its action plus adventure elements and leaves good impression on a gamer's mind for a good period of time.
